Port Glazed Pigs in Blankets

With store bought puff pastry, these little cocktail piggies in a blanket are super simple to make and a perfect accompaniment to a holiday cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • Puff Pastry
  • Ruby Port
  • Cocktail sausages
  • Whole grain mustard
  • Sage leaves
  • 1 Egg

Method:

  1. In a frying pan, brown the cocktail sausages.
  2. Add a splash of port to the pan and cook down until you have a sticky glaze on the sausages.
  3. Roll out prepared puff pastry and cut into 1 in by 4 in strips.
  4. Add a small amount of whole grain mustard to each puff pastry strip.
  5. Place a cocktail sausage at the end of each strip and roll the pastry around it. Seal the end with a bit of water.
  6. Egg wash each sausage roll and add a small sage leaf on top.
  7. Bake until browned in a 375 degree oven.
